Paroxysm is an independent black and white anthology created by Natalia Lopes that features comics, illustration, poetry and prose from independent artists and authors. The anthology's mission is to raise the vocal chords of underrepresented creatives working in the horror genre and has highlighted many POC, disabled, women, trans, LGBTQIA+ and other marginalized contributors. This inaugural volume showcases different subgenres of horror, including a comic investigating a gay vampire serial killer and the man suspected of hiding him from the police, the writings of a reporter uncovering a corporation's secrets while a monster lurks in the hallways, a twisted take on an old folk horror legend, and more.
